We have never seen Caldera OpenDOS 7.01. If its approach to
multitasking is the same as IBM TopView and Microsoft Windows 2.x/3.x,
then "set term timeslice-release" applies to the specific API for an
application to give up its timeslice. If it is different, or if the
presence of its Task Manager can not be detected by Kermit, then all
bets are off. Perhaps Joe D will comment on this.

Not being users of LA FreeNet, we don't know what it is that you must do
to exit its PICO editor. Perhaps if you gave us the details, we could
be of some help.
Also, when reporting troubles you should mention the pertinent details:
which version of MS-DOS Kermit do you have (the current one is 3.14, with
3.15 in Beta)? What kind of connection?
